Last post for a week or so.

I am not going to post for a few days, because I'm getting legally married tomorrow and have my buddhist wedding on monday. I have finished some bits and peices but I'm not in the mood to post; my uncle died yesterday, and I am really gutted, I really loved him very much.

All for now. happy knitting.

Little bag.

I have very nearly finished my little felted bag. The kiogu stripes are so much fun, you just can't wait to see what the next colour looks like! I am afraid I am just going to have to make a jumper from this stuff for autumn.

The wedding celebrations part one were brilliant, my mum worked so hard, and my aunties and uncles also made so much effort, I might even post a picture if anyone in my family send me one.

Thankyou fantastic family and friends!

As usual I showed all the ladies in my family my projects and sock wool posted below, and they went mad for it! They thought it was all really beautiful, so, I've inspired them (thats what my whole purpose in life is!) As it happens I think that knitting is extremely theraputic, and can be quite meditational, and my freind who is just learning has had a difficult couple of days, and said that she would have crumbled if she didn't have her knitting to keep her sane! Thats amazing, I am convinced it has a great deal of theraputic value.

Anyway enough waffle.

Happy knitting and spinning.

And thanks to Marie, I ordered some noro Koreyon for our little totes, and even better they had some lora's laces, I've wanted some of this forever, and its really nice. Extremely thin, so lots of patience, but it'll do me good. noro

I'm going to take both my sockyarns as my honeymoon projects, OHHH! I can't wait!

And my secret pal package leaves the city today!

Thursday 5 August 2004

Yummy Yummy Yarn!

I finally managed to get my parcel from the post office, and what can I say? I would strongly urge anyone who loves socks to purchase sock kits from hello Yarn, the yarn is simply scrummy and I even got a little bonus skein, which it just to die for! I think I might make myself a little purse from it.

I will try and take pictures later on today, if I can get some batteries from the cafe. Thankyou so much Adrian, I am going to start on them ASAP.

I love knitting!

Marie came round last night to see my stash, and spinning wheel etc. It was lovely to see you Marie, thanks for coming, it's lovely to speak to you, I get so inspired! hence I want to find some sock yarn to dye.

I have found some yarn from Texere that will be suitable for dying for sock yarn, I'm just not sure how it will dye if there is polymide in it. Still we'll see.

My secret pal has made their existence known!! How very exciting! I have decided what my first gifts will be for my secret pal, but obviously I can't say word :-).

I think my sock kit from Hello Yarn has arrived at the post office, but I need to collect it because I wasn't in when it was delivered, It came about 3 days ago. The amazing thing is that the time it takes to came from the US was shorter than most Uk deliveries, and about the same price, how crazy is that! Anyway I can't wait to see it!

I had a dream about knitting charlotte last night, probably because Marie told me we can get Koigu in the U.K. somewhere. I can't wait to get my hands on some.

Thats it for today.

have a nice day secret pal.

Button without a border!

Thanks for the help with the button Heidi! Doesn't it look fab!

My button

I have had the first version of my button and it's here:

fyberspates

I love it, however I can't seem to get rid of the border on the one on the left, any ideas??!

I think we will make our mini totes out of noro silk garden, because it's scrummy, anyone fancy a mini tote along? I am sure it only takes about two hours if that!

I received the new rowan mag yesterday, and I'm really chuffed, there are some great things in there, I especially like the poncho made from kidsilk haze called Karis, I think I would really like to make one of these for a present for someone who has made our wedding amazing. It only takes three balls, I wonder if it's possible in two weeks?

V neck going well, Man I love knitting, it's such a healthy obsession!

Monday 2 August 2004

Rainy monday.

Yesterday was beautiful and hot, not a cloud in the sky, and today it's pouring with rain again. Strange. However I made the most of the weather and sat in the garden and knitted for a couple of hours, but then my friend came over and we were drinking Gin and Tonics in the sunshine, and it went down hill from there really. I am on the front of the v neck, and loving it, it's such a simple pattern.

I have decided that a great project for jasmine to start, seeing as she loves little bags and loves felted things will be a teeny tiny felted tote and the pattern is here. We can do it together and it's all in the round so no purling. Perfect!

Oh and I have my sectret pal, I have never read their blog before so I need to see what sorts of things they like before I send anything, how exciting.

Jasmine, Anth and me all decided we are going on a two week health kick so we look fabuous for the wedding, I have been so busy I have been neglecting my exercise regime, and eating rather alot of Gluten free pies, It's not a 'I can't fit into my dress' sort of issue just a 'needing to have great arms in my dress and glowing skin' issue! So we are starting today. Loads of vege's, tofu and organic meat, and fruit teas, and no chips, pastry or cake.
